Elie Richa, M.D., MBA, is board certified in Internal Medicine, Transfusion Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology. Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, Dr. Richa is fluent in both Arabic and French. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Lebanese University and went on to complete his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Staten Island University Hospital in New York City. Dr. Richa also completed a fellowship in Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Upon completing his training, Dr. Richa served as an instructor and an assistant professor at the University of Chicago. During that time, he earned his MBA in Healthcare Management at Loyola University Chicago.
After completing his Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at Stanford University, he relocated to Humboldt County to work at St. Joseph Health System. He currently serves as the Medical Director of Northern California Community Blood Bank. Dr. Richa has written several publications, mainly in the field of blood banking and apheresis, while also staying at the forefront of the latest therapies in Hematology and Oncology. His philosophy is to focus on each patient’s individual needs and care.
